Known to many locals as "The Seaweed Lady", Diane Bernard has family
roots deeply anchored in both Canadian coasts. Generations of her family
have used seaweeds in their daily lives for over 100 years.
Diane started her parent company, Outer Coast Seaweeds in 2001 with an
intention to change the image of seaweed. She began hand harvesting and
manufacturing high quality seaweed products with a responsibility for the
protection of coastal environments and contributes to the quality of life
of coastal communities.
The only known individual that began her own seaweed tours by offering
the experience of the "garden" and education to enthusiasts around the
world. Diane is a passionate environmentalist and is committed to
keeping her products clean, coastal and consistent.
Here at Outer Coast Seaweeds, our intention is to be the best in the
world at developing, designing and locally manufacturing wild seaweed
products for the spa industry worldwide.
We exemplify aligning creative, local economic development with a
wild resource in a responsible and respectful manner for the protection
of coastal environments and our coastal communities.
Outer Coast Seaweeds is an award winning company for innovation in

We work exclusively with real and organic ingredients protected by
a paraben-free and formaldehyde-free preservative system. Safe for

Our on-site manufacturing practices are designed to reduce the impact
of our activities on the environment, and of course, we believe in
using the most environment friendly packaging systems available in
the commercial market today.
